Your Fractional AI Officer

A senior AI engineer with business judgment serves as your part-time AI officer: roadmap, governance, and vendor decisions owned month to month. What our team learns on every engagement, your officer brings to yours. The AI leadership you need without the $250K-400K salary a full-time hire costs.

What your fractional AI officer owns

This is an operating role with named responsibilities, not advisory hours. Every month, your officer is accountable for:

  • AI roadmap and prioritization

Where AI fits in your operations, what to build next, and what to skip. Updated as the landscape shifts, re-prioritized with you every quarter.

  • Ownership of what you already built

More and more clients arrive with an app or automation they built themselves. Your officer audits it, closes security gaps, and takes ownership of the parts that, done wrong, silently create problems six months from now. You keep driving the parts you want to drive.

  • Vendor decisions and ROI tracking

Objective evaluation of tools and platforms. No referral fees, no partnerships that bias the recommendation. Governance and compliance documentation for your industry's regulatory requirements, from HIPAA to bar rules to SOC 2.

  • Team enablement

Training, change management, and adoption support so your people actually use what gets built, and monthly reviews so you always know where things stand.

Why fractional instead of the alternatives

A full-time hire

A full-time chief AI officer costs $250K-400K loaded. Most SMBs don't need that volume of decisions. They need the right ones made well, a few hours a week, by someone who has seen the failure patterns before.

Big-firm consultants

Strategy decks are not oversight. Your fractional AI officer is an engineer who can read the code, audit the vendor, and build the fix, so advice and execution come from the same person carrying context month over month.

Going without

Without an owner, AI decisions get made by vendor pitches. Every tool sounds essential and nobody is accountable when it breaks. AI vendors disclaim responsibility. We don't.

Meet the Team

The senior engineers behind your fractional AI officer. No junior contractors, no slide-deck consultants. The person advising you is also the person who can build what they recommend.

How It Works

  1. an open-lid laptop showing on screen a person and a bubble text

    1

    Discovery Call

A free 30-minute call. We listen first, then tell you straight whether you need an AI officer at all, what the role would own in your business, and whether we are the right fit. You walk away with a short written recap either way.

  2. a flag on the surface of a planet, with three stars in the sky

    2

    Opportunity Assessment

If the discovery call shows a fit, the next step is a paid, fixed-price review of your operations and existing systems, including anything you built yourselves. You walk away with a written report: where AI creates durable value, what needs oversight today, ranked by impact and effort with honest cost estimates. Yours to keep whether or not we continue.

  3. a rubik cube being put together, a pencil, and a gear icon

    3

    Your AI Officer Steps In

A senior AI engineer takes ownership of the role: the roadmap, governance, vendor decisions, and a monthly review rhythm so you always know where things stand. When something needs building or fixing, the rest of our engineering team is the bench behind them.

  4. a rocket coming out and up from a laptop screen

    4

    Ongoing Partnership

Month to month, no minimum commitment. Scale the engagement up or down with 30 days notice, or pause it for up to three months. The longer we work together, the more context your officer carries, and the sharper the recommendations become.

Questions worth asking

Is this the same as a fractional chief AI officer or fractional CAIO?

Yes. Fractional chief AI officer, fractional CAIO, fractional head of AI, outsourced AI officer, AI officer for hire: different names for the same role. What matters is the work it owns: the roadmap, governance, vendor decisions, and oversight of your AI systems. Ours is filled by a senior AI engineer who has built and run these systems, and who has made these calls across many businesses before yours.

What does it cost, and how many hours do we get?

Engagements range from a fixed-price, three-hour consultation up to ongoing partnerships. Those start at $1,000 per month with five included hours for a light advisory cadence, and grow as your officer takes on more of the role, from solo founders up to established enterprises. Every engagement is scoped to your systems, team size, and regulatory requirements. Anything beyond the included hours is flagged before the work starts, never invoiced as a surprise.

We built our app or automations ourselves. Is that a problem?

The opposite: it's the most common way engagements start now. Your AI officer audits what exists, closes the security gaps, and takes ownership of the parts that, done wrong, silently create problems six months from now. You keep driving the parts you want to drive.

We already have a senior engineer. What are we actually getting?

A different job. Your engineer is deep in your product; an AI officer decides where AI fits, which vendors to trust, and what to skip. Our engineers have each run these decisions across many businesses, we test new tools and practices as a team on every engagement, and what one of us learns, all of us apply. Any one of our senior AI engineers could fill this role independently. You get the one assigned to you, backed by the judgment of all of them.

What are the contract terms?

Month to month with no minimum commitment. Scale the engagement up or down, pause it for up to three months, or stop entirely: if you do, you pay only for work already performed, and you own everything we built for you.
